A Digital Photo Essay by Ned Flaspoehler

On Saturday afternoon, I drove to the
Bountiful Temple for the wedding at 4:30. Bountiful is a medium
sized town about 10 miles north of the city. The temple building is
quite beautiful. Christina, Brittney's adopted sister, drove up with
me and we had a nice visit in the car.

The temple building is architecturally interesting in the manner of
most Mormon temples. The exterior of the building is a white stone,
possibly granite, with some arcane carvings that seem to depict the
progression of a solar eclipse. The temple lawn is beautifully
manicured, and the flower beds are carefully tended. The traditional
statue of the Angel Moroni blows his trumpet atop the temple spire.
He seems to be pointing east towards the rising sun, but I am not
sure if there is symbolism in that or not.
The temple is situated high up on the side of the Wasatch and the
view of the city below is spectacular. I even got a few covert
pictures inside the temple waiting room.
