A Digital Trip to Boulder, Colorado
August 2-5, 2001
 |
The first weekend in August, my long-time friend Don
Campbell invited me to Boulder to spend the weekend at his home and
attend the opera. Don has been living in Boulder for
more than ten years, but we first met in Dallas many years ago, in the
mid-70's. Since then, Don has become world famous as the author of
the best selling book, The Mozart Effect. Chauncey, Don's
roommate, also spent the weekend with us. |

During my
visit, in addition to dinners at fine restaurants and the usual
round of sight-seeing, Don and I attended two performances of the
Central City Opera: the first American staging of Benjamin
Britten's coronation opera, Gloriana, and a new work by American
composer Mark Adamo, Little Women, based on the novel by Louisa
May Alcott |

On this trip, instead of
the usual film camera, I used my newly acquired Kodak DC3200 digital
camera to take pictures. Although this is a very inexpensive, low-end,
digital camera, I am most impressed with the quality of the photos. I
hope you enjoy the results. |
