ARROYO:
A Novel by

The Roswell Museum and Art Center contains interesting displays of paintings by internationally known artists like Peter Hurd and
his wife Henriette Weyth. Rocket pioneer Robert Goddard lived in Roswell and
did important rocket research in the nearby desert starting in 1930.
The New Mexico Military Institute offers a disciplined
education to high school age students and also offers some Junior College
level classes. The campus has been used as the setting for several movies.
The Gen. Douglas L. McBride Museum, located on campus, is more disturbing
these days than it is informative. Maybe I have seen too many of those
movies!
But the main attraction in Roswell is Aliens and UFOs. The
International UFO Museum and Research Center (IUFOMRC) is located right on
Main street, at the intersection of US 380 and US 285. Stopping there is a
MUST. A visit to the museum provided me with the opportunity to find out if
Aliens and UFOs were real or not. Don't believe it? Rent the movie!
Recently, I found out that my old Air Force buddy, Don
Burleson, now lives in Roswell, teaching in the Developmental Studies Lab at
Eastern New Mexico University - Roswell. He has a strong interest in the stories of H.P. Lovecraft and is a
recognized UFO expert. Don recently sent me a copy of his novel, ARROYO,
which I enjoyed very much, and highly recommend! You can get a copy on
Amazon.com.
