Since 1996, I have been active as a freelance web developer, designing, creating and publishing custom web sites for a wide variety of clients. Clients receive full service, including domain registration, establishing ISP hosting, page layout and content development, e-mail forwarding to designated company contacts, and registering client sites with major search engines.

I am a skilled writer and editor. I was editor of a national magazine for 11 years, demonstrating proficiency in written communication, as well as layout, design and editing. Two years in a row, my work received the APEX Award for Design Excellence. I have created content for websites. I have ghostwritten a book. I have helped a Chinese graduate student get A+ on all her Ph.D. research papers.

I follow the Associated Press Style Sheet as the final arbiter of questions concerning standard English usage in spelling, usage, grammar and punctuation. I use the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association as a standard for academic research papers.

I am extremely familiar with MS Word and other MS Office products, and can help format documents for submission according to the standards of any print publisher. I have personal experience with preparing books for Print on Demand websites.

I am expert at creating documentation and reports, and often work with end users to create SQL queries to produce specific data selections from MS SQL Server databases for reports. I am trained in Java 2.0 and Visual Basic 6.0, and am currently pursuing MSP Certification in .NET Technologies. I have recently become involved in a project using MS Windows SharePoint Services to develop a website.

I am an experienced HTML programmer who can use MS Front Page 2003, MS Visual Studio and Dreamweaver to create and maintain websites, including the use of such tools as ASP.NET, ADO.NET and Visual Basic.NET. I can create graphics using Adobe Photoshop, as well as develop and include JAVA Scripts in web pages.

I posses a BA in Computer Science from the University of North Texas. I have worked for major corporations in the Dallas area as both a development and maintenance programmer, on large and small projects.

One of my strengths has always been the ability to confer with end users to discover the problems they are having with computer systems, and then devise a technical solution to solve those problems. I am often called upon to communicate with outside vendors to transmit data and install software packages.

As a result of training during my service in the USAF, I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese, and have a working knowledge of French, German and Spanish.
