Dear Robert,
Because you requested that we notify you of important poetic events, I am
delighted to inform you that in just a few weeks, we will be honoring your
poetic accomplishments at poetry.com’s and the International Society of
Poets’ Fall Convention and Symposium, to be held at the Renaissance Hollywood
Hotel in Hollywood, California from November 15-17, 2002.
When you attend the Convention and Symposium, you will present your poetry in
front of your fellow poets from around the world (Our last convention was
celebrated by over 2500 poets from 58 countries worldwide!), and you will be
presented with your International Poet of Merit Silver Award Bowl.
The Award is a magnificent work of art (a $175.00 value) that measures over 10
inches across and over 10 inches high, handcrafted in silver, with your name
custom-engraved on a beautiful cherry wood base (see it here). I’m sure it
will merit a special place of pride in your home. Your award is so large and
heavy that you may wish to bring an extra suitcase to carry it home!
All of this will take place at the World Famous Hollywood Renaissance Hotel,
home of the Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, ESPN ESPY Awards and most recently the
American Idol Competition.

P.S. Hot news right off the press!!! We have just learned that Ray Manzarek,
co-founder of the legendary rock group The Doors, famous Beat Poet Michael
McClure AND the United States Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky will ALL be appearing
Live In Person in addition to all of the previously announced celebrities. It's
so exciting to know that you will be receiving your International Poet of Merit
Silver Award at the most exciting poetry event ever held!
